In exercise of the powers conferred by Clause (1) of Article 174 of the Constitution of India, I, Mridula Sinha, Governor of Goa, hereby summon the Legislative Assembly of the State of Goa, to meet at Assembly Hall on Thursday, 16th March, 2017 at 11.30 a.m.

In exercise of the powers conferred on me by Article 188 of the Constitution of India, I, Mridula Sinha, Governor of Goa, hereby appoint Shri Sidharth Sripad Kuncalienker to be the person before whom Members of the Goa Legislative Assembly shall make and subscribe the Oath or Affirmation before taking their seats, until Speaker chosen by the Goa Legislative Assembly.

"Whereas the Office of the Speaker has become vacant immediately before the commencement of the first meeting of the Goa Legislative Assembly on 16th March, 2017 and office of Deputy Speaker is also vacant from the date of dissolution of the Sixth Legislative Assembly of the State of Goa.
Now, therefore, in exercise of the powers conferred on me by Article 180(1) of the Constitution of India, read with Rule 10 of the Rules of Procedure and Conduct of Business of the Goa Legislative Assembly, I, Mridula Sinha, Governor of Goa, hereby appoint Shri Sidharth Sripad Kuncalienker, a Member of the Goa Legislative Assembly, to perform the duties of the office of the Speaker with effect from 15-3-2017 until the Speaker shall have been chosen by the said Assembly".
