In exercise of the powers conferred by section 22 of the Goa Excise Duty Act, 1964 (Act No. 5 of 1964), the Government of Goa hereby makes the following rules so as to further amend the Goa, Daman and Diu Excise Duty Rules, 1964, namely:—

1. Short title and commencement.— (1) These rules may be called the Goa Excise Duty (Amendment) Rules, 2020.

(2) They shall come into force on the date of their publication in the Official Gazette.

2. Amendment of rule 18A.— In rule 18A of the Goa, Daman and Diu Excise Duty Rules, 1964, for the existing table, the following table shall be substituted, namely:—

1) Processing fee for grant of licence for possession of molasses for use Rs. 25,000/- in the manufacture of potable alcohol

2) Processing fee for grant of licence for possession of molasses for use Rs. 1,000/- other than manufacture of potable alcohol

5) For procurement of molasses

Application fee of Rs. 500/- and Court fees stamp of Rs. 10/- to be affixed on the application

6) For import of molasses into the State of Goa for use other than Rs. 150/- per M.T. manufacture of potable alcohol

7) For export of molasses outside the State of Goa, including outside Rs. 300/- per M.T. the Country

8) For transportation of molasses within the State of Goa and not

covered by items (6) and (7) hereinabove,-

(a) for use in the manufacture of potable alcohol Rs. 150/- per M.T.

(b) for use other than in the manufacture of potable alcohol Rs. 300/- per M.T.
