In exercise of the powers vested in me under Section 10 A of the Goa Municipalities Act, 1968 and sub-rules (1) and (2) of Rule 5 of the Goa Municipalities (Election) Rules, 1969, I, W. V. Ramanamurthy, IAS (Retd.), Commissioner of Goa State Election Commission, Panaji-Goa hereby appoint the Officers mentioned below as the Returning Officers and Assistant Returning Officers for the ensuing General Elections to the following Municipal Councils:-

Whereas, the General Election to the Sanquelim and Ponda Municipal Councils in the State of Goa have been scheduled to be held in the month of May, 2023.

And whereas, under Article 243ZA of the Constitution of India, read with Section 10A of the Goa Municipalities Act, 1968, the State Election Commission is vested Suggestions are welcomed on e-mail: [email protected] 3071 OFFICIAL GAZETTE — GOVT. with the powers of superintendence, direction and control for the conduct of elections to the Municipal Councils.

Now therefore, the Goa State Election Commission do hereby notify as follows:-

"(a) the Collector and District Magistrate, North Goa shall function as the Municipal Council Election Officer (MCEO) for Sanquelim Municipal Council election in North Goa District.

(b) the Collector and District Magistrate, South Goa shall function as the Municipal Council Election Officer (MCEO) for Ponda Municipal Council election in South Goa District".
