Prohibitory Order U/S 144 of the Code of Criminal Procedure of 1973

Whereas, the OSD Coordinating G20 has informed that the 4th Energy Transitions Working Group Meeting and related events, scheduled to be held in the State of Goa on 19th & 20th of July, 2023 at Taj Resorts & Convention Center, Dona Paula followed by Power Minister meeting on 22nd of July, 2023. Clean Energy Ministers/Mission Innovation meeting is scheduled on 21st July, 2023 at Hotel Grand Hyatt, Bambolim with side events at both the venues from 19th July to 22nd July, 2023.
And whereas, further informed that the meetings are expected to be attended by about 36 foreign Ministers and more than 1000 delegates.
And whereas, further informed that as part of safety and security measures which are required to be taken during the G20 meeting and therefore requested this office to issue order restricting the movement of people on the beach adjacent to Taj Resorts & Convention Center, Dona Paula and Hotel Grand Hyatt, Bambolim from 06.00 a.m. of 19th July, 2023 to 06.00 a.m. of 23rd July, 2023.
Now, therefore, in view of the above, I, Mamu Hage, IAS, District Magistrate, North Goa District in exercise of powers vested to me under Section 144 of the Code of Criminal Procedure 1973, do hereby Order that:
a) To prohibit movement of general public and closure of local path way on beach adjacent to Taj Resorts & Convention Center, Dona Paula and Hotel Grand Hyatt, Bambolim from 06.00 a.m. of 19th July, 2023 to 06.00 a.m. of 23rd July, 2023 for the security purposes of the Protected Persons/Delegates of Foreign Countries.
b) To prohibit flying of drones upto 2 kms. radius around the Taj Resorts & Convention Center, Dona Paula and Hotel Grand Hyatt, Bambolim.
Since it is not possible to serve individual notices to all persons concerned, this order is being passed ex parte. Any person, who contravenes this order shall be liable for punishment in accordance with the provisions of the law. The Deputy Superintendent of Police, Security, Altinho, Panaji- Goa, shall ensure compliance with this order. The PWD Department is directed to assist police in erecting view cutter, barricades as per requirements of the Deputy Superintendent of Police Security, Altinho, Panaji-Goa.
This order will be in force from 6.00 a.m. of 19th
July, 2023 to 6.00 a.m. of 23rd July, 2023.
