At present, it is estimated that around 500-600 traditional coconut pluckers are carrying out the business of Harvesting of coconuts in a traditional way. As, this category of coconut pluckers need to be promoted for ease in harvesting of coconuts which is mainly carried out three to four times in a year besides regular maintenance of the coconut trees from the pest attack.
