In exercise of the powers vested in me under Section 10 A of the Goa Municipalities Act, 1968 and sub- -rules (1) and (2) of Rule 5 of the Goa Municipalities (Election) Rules, 1969, I, W. V. Ramanamurthy, IAS (Retd.), Commissioner of Goa State Election Commission, Panaji-Goa hereby appoint the Officers mentioned below as the Returning Officers and Assistant Returning Officers for the ensuing Bye Election to Ward No. VII of Mapusa Municipal Council:-

In exercise of the powers vested in me under sub-section (1) of Section 11 of the Goa Municipalities Act, 1968 amended from time to time, I, W. V. Ramanamurthy, IAS (Retd.), Commissioner, Goa State Election Commission, Panaji hereby notify that the electoral rolls of the Goa Legislative Assembly prepared under the provisions of Representation of People Act, 1950 for the time being in force as on 1st January, 2023 (published on 27th January, 2023) along with the supplement published on 30th April, 2023 for such constituency of the Assembly or any part thereof as is included in Mapusa Municipal area shall be divided Suggestions are welcomed on e-mail: [email protected] 267 OFFICIAL GAZETTE — GOVT. Goa Municipalities Act, 1968, as per the delimitation

vide Order No. 10/821-2019-DMA/Election to 11

MC/5121 dated 04-02-2021 respectively.

The division of electoral rolls into different

sections corresponding to Ward No. VII of Mapusa

Municipal Council shall be done by the Mamlatdars/

/Assistant Returning Officer for Bye Election to Ward

No. VII of Mapusa Municipal Council and the lists

of voters so prepared shall be authenticated by the

Dy. Collector & S.D.O./Returning Officer for Bye

Election to Ward No. VII of Mapusa Municipal

Council.

Whereas, the Bye Election to Ward No. VII of Mapusa Municipal Council in the State of Goa have been scheduled to be held in the month of July, 2023.

And whereas, under Article 243ZA of the Constitution of India, read with Section 10A of the Goa Municipalities Act, 1968, the State Election Commission is vested with the powers of superintendence, direction and control for the conduct of elections to the Municipal Councils.

Now therefore, the Goa State Election Commission do hereby notify as follows:-

"(a) The Collector and District Magistrate, North Goa shall function as the Municipal Council Election Officer (MCEO) for Bye Election to Ward No. VII of Mapusa Municipal Council in North Goa District.
