In exercise of the powers conferred under Sections 112 and 116 of the Motor Vehicles Act, 1988 (Central Act 59 of 1988) and Rule 264-A of the Goa Motor Vehicles (Amendment) Rules, 2005, I, Egna Cleetus, IAS, District Magistrate, South Goa, Margao, in the public interest, do hereby notify "Hump Type Speed Breakers" at Varca, Margao, Salcete-Goa, as indicated in the schedule below and direct the erection of cautionary signboards accordingly:-

The signboards shall be installed as per specifications laid in the schedule under the Goa Motor Vehicles (Amendment) Rules, 2005.
Action taken report including photographs of the work executed must be submitted to this office within 30 days.
Non-compliance of order shall attract penal provision u/s 223 of the Bharatiya Nyaya Sanhita, 2023.

The Executive Engineer, W.D.VI (Roads), P.W.D., Fatorda, Margao-Goa shall take necessary steps for erection of "Hump Type Speed Breakers" on the above locations along with installation of cautionary signboards i.e. Speed Breakers ahead, road markings of thermoplastic luminous paint/strips, median markings for better visibility, guidance of motorists and embedded cat-eyes as per IRC specifications laid down by the Ministry of Road Transport & Highway & as published in the Official Gazette, Series I No. 15 dated 15th July, 2005 and as amended by the Government of Goa.
