The Goa Municipalities (Amendment) Ordinance, 2025

(Ordinance No. 3 of 2025)

Promulgated by the Governor of Goa in the Seventy-sixth Year of the Republic of India.

An Ordinance further to amend the Goa Municipalities Act, 1968 (Act 7 of 1969).

Whereas, the Legislative Assembly of Goa is not in session and the Governor of Goa is satisfied thatcircumstances exist which render it necessary for him to take immediate action. Now, therefore, in exercise of the powers conferred by clause (1) of Article 213 of the Constitution of India, the Governor of Goa is pleased to promulgate the following Ordinance, namely:— Suggestions are welcomed on e-mail: [email protected] 1885 OFFICIAL GAZETTE — GOVT. OF GOA SERIES I No. 33 (EXTRAORDINARY No. 4) 14TH NOVEMBER, 2025 1. Short title and commencement.— (1) This Ordinance may be called the Goa Municipalities (Amendment) Ordinance, 2025. (2) It shall come into force at once.

2. Amendment of Section 184.— In the Goa Municipalities Act, 1968 (Act 7 of 1969), in Section 184, in sub-section (8), the following proviso shall be inserted, namely:—

"Provided that a building which is reflected in the record of rights and the first promulgated survey plan prepared under the provisions of the Goa Land Revenue Code, 1968 (9 of 1969) shall be deemed to have been constructed with due permission of the Chief Officer".
