In view of the tragic fire incident that occurred at nightclub the Birch by Romeo Lane, Arpora, resulting in unfortunate deaths, the Government hereby constitutes the Magisterial Inquiry Committee comprising of following officers to ascertain the facts and circumstances leading to the said incident:
1. Shri Ankit Yadav, IAS, Collector and District Magistrate, North Goa — Chairperson.
2. Shri Tikam Singh Verma, IPS SP, South Goa — Member.
3. Shri Ashutosh Apte, Director, Directorate of Forensic Sciences — Member.
4. Shri Rajendra A. Haldankar, Deputy Director, Directorate of Fire & — Member.
Emergency Services
Terms of Reference:
1. Committee shall examine sequence of events leading to the incidents.
2. Verify the compliances of all statutory licenses and determine the lapses.
3. Fix accountability on agencies/departments responsible and recommend preventive and corrective measures.
4. Committee shall have authority to call for records, documents etc. from concerned departments. Also they shall have powers to summon individuals concerned.
The Committee shall submit the report within one week. By order and in the name of the Governor of Goa.
