In exercise of the powers conferred by the proviso to Article 309 of the Constitution of India read with Section 21 of the General Clauses Act, 1897 (Central Act 10 of 1897), the Governor of Goa hereby makes the following rules so as to amend the Government of Goa, Daman and Diu, Office of the Controller of Weights and Measures, Group 'C' (Non-Ministerial, Non-Gazetted) posts, Recruitment Rules, 1976, published vide Notification No. 1-44 (1)/76-SPL dated 20/08/1976, in the Official Gazette, Series I No. 24, dated 09/09/1976, as follows, namely:—

1. Short title and commencement.— (1) These rules may be called the Government of Goa, Department of Legal Metrology, Group 'C', Non-Ministerial, Non-Gazetted posts, Recruitment (Amendment) Rules, 2026.

(2) They shall come into force on the date of their publication in the Official Gazette.

2. Amendment of Schedule.— In the Government of Goa, Daman and Diu, Office of the Controller of Weights and Measures, Group 'C' (Non-Ministerial, Non-Gazetted) posts Recruitment Rules, 1976, in the Schedule, against serial No. 2 and post "Laboratory Assistant", in column No. 7, for the existing entries therein, the following entries shall be substituted, namely:—

"Essential:

(1) Higher Secondary School Certificate with Science from a recognised Board. (2) Certificate course in Computer in accordance with the instructions or orders issued by the Government from time to time. Suggestions are welcomed on e-mail: [email protected] 413 OFFICIAL GAZETTE — GOVT. OF GOA SERIES I No. 11 11TH JUNE, 2026 (3) Knowledge of Konkani. Desirable: Knowledge of Marathi.".

NOTE

In the Official Gazette, Series I No. 10 dated 04-06-2026, under Department of Personnel, in Notification No. 1/6/2025-PER at page 403 in SCHEDULE, at Sr. No. 2 Police Constable (Armourer), the content of Column 4 may be corrected to read as "Group 'C', Non-Gazetted, Non-Ministerial." instead of "Group 'C', Gazetted, Non-Ministerial.".

All other content of the notification remains the same.
