In exercise of the powers conferred by sub-rule (4) of Rule 99 of the Goa Excise Duty Rules, 1964, the Government of Goa, in view of the Notification No. 100/GOA-LA/1/2026 dated 08-04-2026 issued by the Election Commission of India, hereby withdraws the directions issued vide Notification No. 2/2/2022- Fin(R&C)/(A)/31389 dated 02-04-2026, in respect of the closure of licensed premises for the sale of liquor on 04-05-2026 within the areas under the jurisdiction of the 21-Ponda Assembly Constituency.

No. 2/2/2022-Fin(R&C)/(B)/31613 Date : 29-Apr-2026In exercise of the powers conferred by Sections 5 and 8 of the Goa Excise Duty Act, 1964 (Act 5 of 1964), the Government of Goa, consequent upon the rescission of the bye-election to the 21-Ponda Assembly Constituency by the Election Commission of India vide Notification dated 08-04-2026, hereby rescinds Notification No. 2/2/2022-Fin(R&C)/(B)/31390 dated 02-04-2026 with immediate effect.
