Order

No. 10/1043/2026-DMA/Appointment of Administrator/481 Date : 08-May-2026

Whereas, the General Election to the Quepem and Sanguem Municipal Council, is to be held in the month of May, 2026.

And whereas, the term of the Quepem and Sanguem Municipal Council is expiring on 09-05-2026.

And whereas, the Government has approved the proposal of the Goa State Election Commission to hold the election of above Municipal Council in the month of May, 2026.

And whereas, in view of above, a situation has arisen whereby the administration of the Quepem and Sanguem Municipal Council cannot be carried out in accordance with the provisions of the Goa Municipalities Act, 1968 (Act 7 of 1969).

Now, therefore, in exercise of the powers conferred by Clause (d) of sub-section (1) of Section 298 of the Goa Municipalities Act, 1968 (Act 7 of 1969), the Government of Goa hereby appoints the officer specified in Column (2) of the Table below as the Municipal Administrators of the Municipal Councils specified against the corresponding entries in Column (3) of the Table below with effect from dates mentioned in Column (4), in addition to his own duties until further orders.
