सा.का.नि. 48(अ).-केन्द्रीय सरकार , भारतीय जीवन बीमा निगम अधिनियम , 1956 ( 1956 का 31 ) की धारा 48 द्वारा प्रदत्त शक्तियों का प्रयोग करते हुए , भारतीय जीवन बीमा निगम ( अभिकर्ता ) नियम , 1972 का और संशोधन करने के लिए निम्नलिखित नियम बनाती है, अर्थात्:
1. ( 1 ) इन नियमों का संक्षिप्त नाम भारतीय जीवन बीमा निगम ( अभिकर्ता ) ( संशोधन ) नियम, 2008 है ।
(2) ये 1 अप्रैल , 2007 से प्रवृत्त हुए समझे जाएंगे ।
2. भारतीय जीवन बीमा निगम ( अभिकर्ता) नियम , 1972 की अनुसूची 6 में खंड 2 के उप- खंड ( 3 ) में 1,00,000 रु. " संक्षेपाक्षरों और अंकों के स्थान पर " 2,00,000 रुपए " संक्षेपाक्षर और अंक रखे जाएंगे ।

स्पष्टीकरण ज्ञापन
केन्द्रीय सरकार ने भारतीय जीवन बीमा निगम के अभिकर्ताओं को संदाय किए जाने वाले उपदान पर अधिकतम सीमा को 1 अप्रैल , 2007 से पुनरीक्षित करने के लिए अनुमोदन दे दिया है तदनुसार भारतीय जीवन बीमा निगम ( अभिकर्ता ) नियम , 1972 को 1 अप्रैल , 2007 से संशोधित किया जा रहा है ।
यह प्रमाणित किया जाता है कि संशोधन को भूतलक्षी प्रभाव देने से भारतीय जीवन बीमा निगम के किसी अभिकर्ता पर प्रतिकूल प्रभाव पड़ने की संभावना नहीं है ।

NOTIFICATION
New Delhi, the 23rd January, 2008
G.S.R. 48(E) . In exercise of the powers conferred by Section 48 of the Life Insurance Corporation Act , 1956 (31 of 1956) ; the Central Government hereby makes the following rules to amend the Life Insurance Corporation of India (Agents) Rules , 1972, namely : ----
1. (1 ) These rules may be called the Life Insurance Corporation of India (Agents ) (Amendment) Rules, 2008.
(2) They shall be deemed to have come into force on the 1st day of April , 2007.
2. In the Life Insurance Corporation of India (Agents ) Rules , 1972, in Schedule VI , in clause 2, in sub -clause (3 ) , for the abbreviations and figures "Rs.1,00,000 " , the abbreviations and figures " Rs . 2,00,000 " shall be substituted.

EXPLANATORY MEMORANDUM
The Central Government has accorded approval to revise the ceiling on gratuity being paid to the Agents ofthe Life Insurance Corporation of India with effect from 1st April , 2007. The Life Insurance Corporation of India (Agents ) Rules , 1972 are being amended accordingly with effect from 1st April , 2007.
It is certified that no Agent of the Life Insurance Corporation of India is likely to be affected adversely by the amendment being given retrospective effect .
