The Central Govt. hereby specifies the officers mentioned in column (2) of the Table given below, being officers not below the rank of Director of Archaeology or Commissioner of Archaeology of the respective State Govts, as the competent authorities for the purposes of Sections 20C and 20D of the said Act, with the area of jurisdiction specified in the corresponding entry in column (3) of the said Table.
