Ministry of Fisheries, Animal Husbandry and Dairying, Department of Fisheries vide Order No. 30035/15/97-FY (T-1)/Ind., dated 30-03-2023, has imposed a uniform ban on fishing by all fishing vessels in the Indian Exclusive Economic Zone (EEZ) beyond territorial waters on the East Coast and West Coast for the year 2023.
