A Government Order and Notification have been issued for the upgradation and restructuring of the administrative framework, whereby 18 Village Panchayats—drawn from the Thurinjapuran and Tiruvannamalai Panchayat Unions in the Tiruvannamalai District—have been merged with the Tiruvannamalai Municipality to constitute the Tiruvannamalai Municipal Corporation. Consequently, an Order and Notification are hereby issued, in accordance with Section 15, Sub-section (4)(i) of the Tamil Nadu Panchayats Act, 1994 (Tamil Nadu Act 21/1994), for the restructuring of Rural Local Bodies through the exclusion of the said 18 Village Panchayats from the Thurinjapuran and Tiruvannamalai Panchayat Unions.
