A Government Order and Notification were issued to upgrade and restructure the Pudukkottai Municipality into the Pudukkottai Municipal Corporation by fully integrating 8 Village Panchayats—and partially integrating 3 Village Panchayats—from the Thiruvarankulam, Pudukkottai, Annavasal, and Arimalam Panchayat Unions within the Pudukkottai District. Consequently, an Order and Notification are hereby issued, in accordance with Section 15, Sub-section (4)(i) of the Tamil Nadu Panchayats Act, 1994 (Tamil Nadu Act 21/1994), to restructure the Rural Local Bodies by removing—fully in the case of 8 Village Panchayats and partially in the case of 3 Village Panchayats—those entities situated within the Thiruvarankulam, Pudukkottai, Annavasal, and Arimalam Panchayat Unions.
