A Government Order and notification have been issued to upgrade and reconstitute the Kandarvakottai Village Panchayat—located within the Kandarvakottai Panchayat Union in Pudukkottai District—into a Town Panchayat; consequently, an order is issued to reconstitute the rural local bodies by excluding the Kandarvakottai Village Panchayat, and a notification is published in accordance with Section 15, Sub-section (4)(i) of the Tamil Nadu Panchayats Act, 1994 (Tamil Nadu Act 21 of 1994).
